50th Anniversary: First Pres. Monroe

Dear Church Family and Friends,

"What good fellowship we once enjoyed as we walked together to the house of God." —Psalm 55:14 (NLT)

On Sunday, March 27, First Presbyterian Church of Monroe will celebrate 50 years at our church home on 500 Breedlove Drive. The church was originally formed in 1950 and resided on the corner of West Highland and Spring Street in downtown Monroe. After 22 years at this location the congregation purchased land on Breedlove Drive to become Ray Memorial Presbyterian Church. The first service at our current location was held on a joyful Easter in1972. In 2012 we reclaimed our original name, First Presbyterian Church (USA).

What a wonderful history we have, and YOU are a part of our church history and family! Joining us for our special celebration will be former pastors Gary Lowe and George Rogers. We have put together displays of church activities over the past 50 years for you to enjoy and to share with your family.

The celebration will begin with worship at 11:00 a.m. with a catered lunch in the Fellowship Hall to follow. Check out our Facebook page - First Presbyterian Church Monroe - for our posts featuring pictures from the past!

Our desire is to glorify God in our celebration. Worship and fellowship will be enriched by your presence since you have been or are a part of God’s ministry at this church over the years.

Please respond by phone, (770) 267-3404, or email (office@fpcmonroe.com) by March 4, 2022. Include your email, telephone number, plus the number of adults and children that will be attending.

In Jesus Christ,

Erin Morgan, Pastor
