Theme, Worship, and Business: Our theme for 2024 is Finding Meaning, Inside and Out. For the Spring Stated Meeting, we will be exploring the virtues of hope and humility that mark thriving congregations. As part of our worship, Rev. Emily Choi of The Story New Worshiping Community and Rev. David Lower of Saint Luke’s Presbyterian Church in Dunwoody will offer us a sermon on Romans 5:1-5. We will also be commissioning our commissioners to the 226th General Assembly this summer.

Business for the meeting will include an examination for ordination, introductions from transferring minister members, consideration of a potential new candidate in the ordination process, and review of a proposed overture to the General Assembly from Oakhurst Presbyterian Church calling for action so that children may live free from gun violence. We will hear a report from Presbytery’s Council regarding the Unified Conversations toward a sustainable budget and an update from Clark Simmons of the Board of Pensions. The commissioner handbook with the full business for the meeting is now available above..

Registration: Registration is required by noon on Monday, April 29, so that our staff and volunteers can prepare the Zoom meeting for all who will be attending. You will receive a confirmation email with your Zoom connection information once your registration has been reviewed and approved.

Pastors and clerks of session, please share this information with your ruling elder commissioners now so that they can register by the April 29 deadline.
