Conflict Transformation for our Churches and Church Leaders

Our Purpose is to partner with our church members and leaders in:

• Training pastors and church leaders in strategies to navigate conflict

• Identifying barriers to cooperation in a system

• Developing breakthrough strategies

• Turning opposing partners into partners in prayer and mission

What services does the Shalom Team provide?

• Helping leaders and committee persons identify and learn appropriate skills for dealing with differences

• Identifying issues within a church that need to be discussed in healthy ways

• Developing an action plan to improve the situation with those involved

• Helping the session (and congregation) face, mediate, and make decisions about issues and behaviors affecting the congregation.

• Reducing tension within the leadership and congregation

• Assisting in developing and implementing strategies to improve congregational communication, thereby establishing positive direction for the future.

The Shalom Team is a group of trained pastors, counselors, mediators and  church leaders with specialized gifts and background in ministries of reconciliation.  While maintaining confidentiality in the process, the Shalom Team is accountable to the Commission on Ministry of the presbytery.  For more information or to request  a conversation, contact Joy Fisher jfisher@atlpcusa.org or your congregational consultant.
