Columbia Theological Seminary's Baccalaureate and Commencement Weekend

Columbia Theological Seminary is just over a month away from the pinnacle of the academic year, 2025 Baccalaureate and Commencement weekend. 

This year’s Baccalaureate ceremony takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 16 at Decatur Presbyterian Church in downtown Decatur, Ga., and serves as the spiritual celebration of the Class of 2025.  Scholar, theologian and author, The Rev. Dr. Renita Weems, Chief Academic Officer and Dean of the Gammon Theological Seminary and the nation’s first black woman to earn a Ph.D. in Old Testament studies, will be the speaker.

The Seminary’s Commencement ceremony will be held the next day on Saturday, May 17 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Atlanta.   Fifty-two degrees/diplomas will be conferred on 46 graduates, with six being dual-degree graduates. The Rev. Dr. Victor Aloyo, Jr., president of Columbia Theological Seminary, will give his charge to the new graduates.
