Mental Health Connections Week
April 18 - 25, 2021
All are invited to connect, be encouraged, and be supported through Mental Health Connections Week beginning Sunday, 4/18!
Hosts: First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta and Samaritan Counseling Center of Atlanta have partnered with the Will for Hope Foundation to provide this opportunity to learn and connect.
Will for Hope, a non-profit foundation that aims to provide funding to support programs necessary to destigmatize mental illness and promote mental health, was started by FPC member Kate (Hudson) Monk and family in memory of her brother, Will Hudson, whom they lost to suicide after a nearly 20 year struggle with depression and addiction.
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Lauren Edwards
April 18, 4:30-5:30 pm, First PC Atlanta, Fifield Hall
Dr. Lauren Edwards is a licensed psychologist working with teens, adults, and groups. She is the owner of Edwards Psychological Associates and co-founder of Daily DBT. Dr. Edwards received her undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and her PhD in Psychology from the University of Tennessee. She is a consultant for the Samaritan Counseling Center of Atlanta and an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Medicine.
There are three ways to connect with the Keynote speaker, Dr. Lauren Edwards, on Sunday, 4/18, 4:30-5:30pm. First, there are still spaces for in-person attendance. You can also sign up for a livestream link, or you will be able to watch a recording afterwards.
Small Groups: Throughout the week, we are offering small group sessions to be able to talk in-person, facilitated by therapists and pastors. These gatherings will still be with social distancing and masks, but if you are able, it will be wonderful to gather in person. Get more details about the small groups by clicking the link below and then selecting "Register."
