Black Vespers: A Concert of Song and Prayer

Sunday February 27, 2022 - 7 PM

Peachtree Presbyterian Church Sanctuary

Psalm 19:14 “May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”

Psalm 19: 1 “The Heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”

Please join us as we gather in celebration of Black History month for a concert of prayer songs celebrating the Triune God through African American sacred prayer song traditions. This will be an evening of prayers, both read and sung through spirituals, hymns, and psalms.

Featuring:

  • Dr. Stephen Michael Newby, Minister of Worship

  • Mary Hoffman, Director of Music

  • The Peachtree Chancel Choir and Orchestra

  • With special Atlanta-area guest artists

We are the work of God’s hands. If there were ever a time in which we needed the Lord, we sure do need God right now. All over the world people are struggling with challenges. But Jesus Christ is our firm foundation and GOD won't ever fail us. God is with us.
