Webinar - Investing in Ruling Elders and Deacons: Deacon Ministries

Year of Leader Formation: Investing in Ruling Elders and Deacons
Presented by the Presbyterian Church (USA) Office of the General Assembly

Deacon Ministries – A Webinar
September 16, 2021; 7:00 - 8:30 pm (EDT)
Register for the webinar by September 8, 2021
here.

Description: According to our PC(USA) Book of Order, “the ministry of deacon as set forth in Scripture is one of compassion, witness, and service . . .” The ways that this ministry is lived out varies from one congregation to another, depending on culture, context, and needs of the church and broader community. In this third webinar of The Year of Leader Formation series, join a panel of deacons, pastors, and ruling elders in exploring this vital ordered ministry of the church. You will have an opportunity to hear about the ways that the gifts and skills of deacons are used within congregational ministries, community impacts of deacon ministries, and the connection between discipleship and deacons. There will be an opportunity for questions, answers, and further exploration of the way God is moving through the deacons of the PC(USA).

This event is provided for free for participants and is funded through your per capita dollars. It does not come without cost, however. Knowing the diversity of language within the PC(USA), this webinar will be provided in several languages with interpretation based on requests made through the registration process. As a result, there is a registration deadline of September 8, 2021, in order to be able to have time to arrange for those services. This event will be recorded and will be available in English following the event.
