Joining Hands for Justice in Palestine and Israel
Mission
Since 2000*, the Joining Hands for Justice in Israel & Palestine Partnership has been committed to educating Presbyterians and the wider Atlanta Community about the conditions of Palestinians living under the Israeli Occupation. We have organized and led trips to Palestine/Israel to meet with our partners in the Holy Land and to learn about the reality on the ground.
The Partnership sponsors and co-sponsors conferences, speakers, and other educational events here in Atlanta. JHJPI members are active in and serve in leadership roles of the Israel/Palestine Mission Network of the PC(USA) and the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship. We co-sponsor events, trips, and speakers with Presbyterian Peacemaking Partnership of the PGA, Jewish Voice for Peace, and Interfaith Peace Builders. We continue the advocacy work in which we have been engaged, as we encourage others to join us in promoting a just peace in Palestine and Israel.
*JHJPI Partnership began in 2000 as a partner program with PGA and the PC(USA) Hunger Program. The partnership was administered through the presbytery’s former hunger program, Presbyterian Answer to Hunger (PATH). In 2010, with the end of the PATH program, and under the presbytery’s new structure, JHJPI became a formal Presbytery Partnership.
