Caring for Chaplains
Presbyterians Caring for Federal Chaplains helps the PC(USA) endorsing agency, Presbyterian Federal Chaplaincies (https://presfedchap.org), provide Presbyterian and reformed ministry to federal personnel with the mission, “That all may practice in peace.” They help recruit and support Presbyterian clergy who serve members and families of our Armed Forces worldwide, Veterans and their families receiving care from the Department of Veterans Affairs, inmates confined in Bureau of Prison facilities and their families, and members and cadets of the Civil Air Patrol.
They encourage congregations to become a “Veteran/Military Friendly Congregation,” a program of the Military Chaplains Association (https://mca-usa.org).
Current members of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta serving as federal chaplains include:
Michael Chaney, Chaplain, US Navy
Patrick Day, Chaplain (Captain), Georgia Army National Guard
In addition to your prayers for our Chaplains, their families, and the persons who receive their ministry, donations are also welcomed. Donations enable pastoral visits to chaplains and their families and bring them to sustainment and training events. Donations are possible through a congregation’s portion of the Peacemaking and Global Witness Offering, a congregation’s budget, or a special offering. Contributions can be sent through https://presfedchap.org.
